Many individuals in the community had petitioned for it to be conserved after it had been sold to Malaysian developer, Selangor Dredging Berhad, for $47 million, shedding light on the importance and value Singaporeans have placed on heritage buildings such as this.
The public will have access to the building once the development of the property is complete and conservation efforts will be observed closely by the URA according to its regulations.
