The North East Line (NEL) is a high-capacity, fully underground MRT line operated by SBS Transit, coloured purple on the rail map. Opened in 2003, the 22-kilometre line is the MRT network's shortest heavy-rail line, threading through Punggol, Sengkang, Hougang, Serangoon, and into the city centre.
Despite its compact span, the NEL connects some of the fastest-growing HDB towns in the north-east to the cultural belt around Little India and Chinatown, and onwards to HarbourFront. For buyers in Sengkang and Punggol in particular, it remains the primary rail link to the rest of Singapore.

Walking distance, future interchanges, which units actually face the line, resale vs new launch trade-offs - happy to share what we've seen with families and investors buying nearby.
No obligation. Direct-developer pricing on every new launch we recommend.
